Legacy Thread is a boutique consultancy founded by Ludovica d’Andria, bringing together more than a decade of work at the intersection of craftsmanship, sustainability, and regenerative development. Ludovica’s path has unfolded across Europe, North America, East Africa, and China, moving between global supply chains, cultural ecosystems, and artisan communities. Over time, one truth became clear: the way we design, make, and trade shapes livelihoods, dignity, and futures.
The defining chapter took place during four transformative years in Kenya, where Legacy Thread was founded in 2023. In Kenya, Ludovica worked with artisan groups, marginalised communities, refugees, and conservation organisations, and supported initiatives to expand trade opportunities and strengthen livelihoods through her work with the United Nations’ International Trade Centre.
Yet something was missing. Founders were often left alone to translate vision into pricing, planning, systems, and growth. Legacy Thread was created to bridge that gap. Today, the consultancy works closely with artisans, craft-based businesses, responsible fashion brands, circular and regenerative ventures, and non-profits in the conservation and artisanal sectors. The approach is hands-on and embedded: from building pricing structures together and shaping growth plans side by side to structuring websites with intention, and attending key calls when needed.
Alongside this work, Ludovica contributes to European policy initiatives and academic programmes reshaping how the world designs, makes, and trades. As a NEST Fellow, she mentors artisan-led enterprises in building resilient business models and supports programmes advancing craft globally. She also serves as Project Coordinator for Fashion Revolution Italy.
